Inflation rises to 5.32 pc

Inflation rose to 5.32 per cent for the week ended December 9, from 5.16 per cent in the previous week mainly due to increase in prices of some food articles including vegetables.
The wholesale price-based annual inflation rate stood at 4.39 per cent in the corresponding week last year.

The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for all commodities declined by 0.05 per cent to 207.7 points while it was 197.2 points a year ago.

The Government revised the final inflation figure upward to 5.46 per cent for the week-ended October 14, from the provisional 5.26 per cent, while the WPI stood corrected at 208.6 points as against the earlier estimate of 208.2 points.
